Maritime Services

Farmar provides equipment and personnel to carry out a wide range of maritime operations, both at sea and onshore.

Mobile Crane Service

Through Lister Kranservice, we operate two mobile cranes. The largest has a reach of 100 metres and a lifting capacity of up to 80 tonnes, while the other can lift 30 tonnes. We provide regular crane services to Asco, Alcoa, and seismic shipping companies with vessels laid up in Lundevågen.

Bollard Pull Testing

Using DNV-approved equipment and location, we test vessels’ continuous bollard pull up to 400 tonnes. Testing is carried out from Kjeholmen in Stolsfjorden outside Flekkefjord. With no tidal influence and minimal wind or current, this is considered one of Europe’s best locations for bollard pull testing.

Harbour Personnel Hire

Farmar supplies personnel for the management of port services at various bases. On a permanent basis, we handle the loading of ilmenite at the Titania quay in Jøssingfjorden, with a dedicated port captain and crane operators.

Laser Rust and Paint Removal

Our laser cleaning gun is easy to transport and requires minimal setup. Adjustable much like a high-pressure washer, with a maximum width of 30 cm, it can be used on materials such as iron, steel, concrete and wood. The service is available for hire with an operator.

Diesel Cleaning

At the Farmar quay, we have a large diesel purifier with a capacity of up to 200 litres per minute, equivalent to 12,000 litres per hour. It is used for our own vessels but is also available to private boat owners dealing with contaminated fuel tanks.

Oil Spill Response Equipment

Over the years, we have built up a comprehensive package of oil spill response equipment, including hydraulic cranes, pumps, hoses and a variety of skimmers that separate oil from water. We also have more than 1,000 metres of oil booms for containment and collection of spills at sea.

Yokohama Fenders

With around 30 Yokohama fenders available for hire, we are among Norway’s largest suppliers of this equipment. Yokohama fenders – also known as pneumatic fenders or rubber fenders – are primarily used in maritime operations to protect vessels, quays and other structures from damage during mooring, loading and unloading. Farmar offers fenders in all sizes, from the smallest at 1 x 1.5 metres to the largest at 3.5 x 6.5 metres.
