FFS Arion on its way to Sunnmøre with the hull to be built on and become a state-of-the-art service vessel for the wind power industry.

- The hull is manufactured in Poland. The ship will now be fitted out in Norway, says John W. Nilsen, general manager of FFS.

FFS Arion, which is the largest tug in the FFS fleet, arrived in the Polish port city of Gdynia before Christmas. After a few days of waiting, the towing mission began. The plan is to arrive in Ulsteinvik later this week.

ULSTEIN SHIPYARD was established in 1917 and is a family-owned shipyard that mainly builds and delivers special vessels to players within offshore energy.

The shipyard must not be confused with Green Yard Kleven, which is located in the same municipality on Sunnmøre and offers new construction, repairs, rebuilding and recycling of ships. In this shipyard, FFS is on the ownership side together with Einar Øgrey Farsund, among others.

IT IS THE FOSNAVÅG OWNER Stig Remøy, who has ordered the service vessel for wind turbines through the company Olympic Subsea.

The ship carries construction name Olympic NB 318. It is built according to the Twin X-Stern concept, which, among other things, means that the vessel is optimized for low energy consumption.
