"Our customer for this project is Industridykk AS from Kristiansand, with whom we collaborate on several projects both as a supplier and customer," says FFS CEO John W. Nilsen.
The job is scheduled to last for one month but may be extended for several months.
"It's exciting to see crane vessels being used for such tasks," says Nilsen.
FFS Amon has a crew of two on board throughout the project period.
IN ADDITION TO to serving as a platform, the boat's grab and crane will be used for dredging. Additionally, FFS provides its own boat for seabed scanning before blasting.
"This is done using multibeam echo sounders, which are particularly well-suited for surveying and sea mapping," says Nilsen.
THE EXPANSION of the new E18 between Rugtvedt and Langangen is, according to Nye Veier, a complex project involving large bridge constructions and tunnels.
The stretch is 17 kilometers long and includes the construction of the new Grenlandsbrua bridge. The plan is for the new road to address the sometimes significant traffic challenges through Porsgrunn.
