- We like assignments like this. We have the equipment and expertise to do the whole job - from site preparation to stone laying and concrete work, says John W. Nilsen, general manager of FFS.
ON MINE MATTERS in Spind, the old concrete piers had completely collapsed. A work boat and the barge Ponton 9 were used to transport out natural stone, an excavator and other necessary equipment.
- The entire facility is built with natural stone. On top we will lay concrete. We have also built walls and stairs, says Nilsen.
FFS HAS LONG experience from building up wharf facilities, and special expertise in the construction of maritime concrete foundations and bollards.
- We may have done more such jobs in the past. But as I said, this is a task we are happy to take on, says Nilsen.
