Inspectors sent sky-high

There was suspicion of a damaged wind turbine blade. With lifting assistance from Lister Kranservice, employees at Lista Vindkraftverk were able to carry out the necessary damage inspection.
The inspectors were lifted 100 metres into a basket.

“It was quite intense. Two men were hoisted up in a basket. They were 100 metres above the ground when they conducted the inspection. Luckily, it was a false alarm. There was nothing wrong,” says Tony Kristiansen.
He runs Lister Kranservice, which is owned by Farmar. Kristiansen also operated the mobile crane used in the lofty operation.
"THIS IS THE largest mobile crane between Kristiansand and Stavanger. It has a reach of 100 metres and can lift up to 80 tonnes,” says Kristiansen.
The company recently had another job at Lista Vindkraftverk.
“One of the turbine blades needed to be moved. We carried out the task using two cranes,” says Kristiansen.
LISTA VINDKRAFTVERK has become an important customer for Lister Kranservice
“We receive frequent requests from them. It’s great to be able to help with lifting jobs locally,” says Kristiansen.
Other major customers include Asco and Alcoa, as well as the many shipping companies with vessels laid up in Lundevågen.
At Alcoa, a smaller mobile crane is often used. It can lift 30 tonnes, but features crab steering, making it easier to manoeuvre.
LISTER KRANSERVICE “We do occasionally take on projects outside the region. But our primary market is Farsund and Lyngdal,” says Kristiansen.
