Some of Norway’s top death divers soared through the air from Farmar’s barge right in the heart of Farsund.

When death divers hurl themselves from dizzying heights in front of a sea of people on a sunny summer’s day, every detail needs to fall into place – both in the air and below the surface.
Farmar played a key role in making the most spectacular event of this year’s VANNvittig Moro possible – a summer festival and public celebration filled with water activities, concerts and adrenaline-packed entertainment, held in the centre of Farsund each July.
WITH THE Farmar Aton barge providing a rock-solid base and a 20-metre diving tower rigged on deck, the world’s highest organised døds competition was carried out in the harbour basin.
The unique location provided close contact with daring jumps for a record audience - estimated at around 10,000.
"It’s absolutely incredible. Farmar doesn’t just provide equipment, they bring a mindset – when our town wants to go big, they’re all in", said Kasper Fossland, chairman of VANNvittig Moro.
"Without their barge and help with the rigging, this simply wouldn’t have been possible. And Tobias Bulæg from Farmar has had everything under complete control from start to finish", he added.
SEVENTEEN competitors – including world champions, record holders and local legends – showed off their aerial acrobatics from 20 metres (pro class) and eight metres (amateur class), to thunderous applause from crowds lining the docks and pleasure boats circling the tower.
Farmar CEO John W. Nilsen, who watched the action from “ringside” on the barge, made no secret of how crucial stability was:
"When you build a 20-metre-high tower on water, even tiny movements become major challenges. Farmar Aton is designed for exactly these types of operations, and we knew it would deliver", he said, adding:
"Providing the barge and rigging represents a substantial contribution in terms of value, but for us this is just as much about helping Farsund thrive. It’s simply fun to be part of it."
FARSUND was buzzing, with organisers confirming that this year’s turnout far surpassed last year’s 7,000.
Never before have so many people gathered in the town at once.
"The real winners today are the audience. What a day, what a town", said Fossland with a smile.
To Farmar, VANNvittig Moro is the perfect event to support, with its strong maritime flavour.
"We’re looking into how we might contribute even more next year – but exactly what that will be is something we’ll need to discuss further with the festival team", said Nilsen.
