The tow from Malmkaia in Narvik and out the Beisfjord was noticed locally. Many people caught the operation and posted pictures on social media.
- "Our tugs have been extremely busy lately," says John W. Nilsen, General Manager of Farmar.
EXHAUSTS belongs to Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag, more commonly known as LKAB - a mining company wholly owned by the Swedish state.
The company is Europe's largest producer of iron ore and uses Narvik as its port of shipment.
PLAYING WITH The unloader will be towed down to Sløvåg, which is close to Mongstad and Skipavik in Vestland county.
- Farmar Athos has had several jobs in the Mongstad area recently. Among other things, the boat took part in a float-on operation together with four other tugs. "A rig that was to be dismantled was towed on board a ship," says Nilsen.
